In some occassion, in order to ensure the security of the transaction, you may be asked to submit a selfie holding the card which is used in it.
It can be either a photo or a video selfie request.
If you receive a video selfie request, to successfully proceed further, you need to make sure that the video of yourself holding the card meets all of the requirements listed below:
- The resolution of the video is high enough for the details and your face to be clearly visible
- the first 4 and last 4 digits of the card number
- the name on the card
- expiration date
- The format of the video is 3gp, .mov, .mp4, .avi or .webm;
- The size of the file is not bigger than 200 MB (megabytes).
Also, while filming the video, please make sure to read this text:
"Hello, Simplex. In this payment, I am buying [please specify the cryptocurrency]. I know that after I complete my payment, it cannot be refunded or reversed. I am aware that scammers sometimes present themselves as large, respectable companies, agencies or service providers, in order to trick victims into sending crypto-currency to them.
I understand that if I send cryptocurrency directly to an account I do not control, I will lose the money I paid. My computer is not being remotely controlled and no one is guiding me through this payment."
The video needs to be uploaded directly to the system, using the special link provided in the email with the request.
If you can not see where to upload the video or the link does not open properly, please get in touch with our support team and we will be happy to assist you on this matter.
